Surgical hospital gets Medicare certification

Thousand Oaks Surgical Hospital has received Medicare certification. Surveyors visited the hospital, accompanying nurses making patient visits. They examined and evaluated patient care, surgical services, hospital policies and procedures.

“We are thrilled to have received the certification required by Medicare for providing care to surgical patients in our community,” said Carol Freeman, administrator.

“This latest achievement illustrates our commitment to enhancing patient care services in the community. Gaining Medicare certification demonstrates that we are providing hospitality-inspired care to our community that meets strict government standards.” In addition to open access for Medicare patients, the hospital has completed agreements with Aetna and Blue Cross for commercially insured patients and with Multiplan for workers’ compensation.
