Upcoming golf tournament seeks players, sponsors
Players and sponsors are invited to support the sixth annual Golf Classic to benefit Ventura County community colleges on Mon., May 23 at the Spanish Hills Country Club, 999 Crestview Ave., Camarillo. Proceeds will be distributed equally among the Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura college foundations for use in scholarships and institutional programs.
The classic begins at 10 a.m. with registration and long drive and putting contests. The tournament begins at noon with a shotgun start. No-host cocktails, a live auction and dinner at 4:30 p.m. will follow the tournament.
The entry fee is $250 per player, which includes lunch, dinner and tee package. A mulligan package is available for $25. Additional dinner tickets for golfer’s guests are $50 per guest.
The classic is jointly sponsored by Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura community colleges. Sponsors include the JCM Group of Los Angeles at the gold level and Special Devices, Inc. and Kavlico Corporation, both of Moorpark, at the silver level.
Trimcote Roofing, Sirius Computer Services, Cumulus Broadcasting, Dr. Ruth Hemming and Bagwell Construction Services are sponsoring foursomes.
