Temple to host picnic for Rabbi Greenbaum

He has served Temple Adat Elohim in T.O. for 21 years The congregation of Temple Adat Elohim announces the retirement of senior Rabbi Alan Greenbaum. The rabbi will be honored with a family picnic Sun., June 5 at Conejo Creek Park, Thousand Oaks and a dinner dance Sat., June 25 at the temple, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. Rabbi Greenbaum and his wife Dori have been at Temple Adat Elohim for 21 years since their arrival in 1984. He has worked with other synagogues and churches to create the Conejo Valley Winter Shelter Program. He is a member of the Conejo Valley Interfaith Clergy Community and has served as its president. He has served as a board member of the Hospice of the Conejo and has lectured to Moorpark College classes. During his tenure the congregation has grown from 200 to 700 families. He has created many programs, including Shabbat Bayit and the annual ecumenical Thanksgiving service. For times and details, please call the temple at (805) 497-7101. |
