St. Jude to host benefit dinner/dance fundraiser

St. Jude Catholic Church will host a benefit fundraiser Dinner Dance Luau II from 6 p.m. to midnight Sat., May 21 at the Agoura/Calabasas Community Center, 27040 Malibu Hills Road, Calabasas.

There will be appetizers, ethnic and continental foods, and breads and desserts.

The Affable Carina Band will provide a variety of music for dancing throughout the evening. Proceeds from this event will go towards the Beautification and Grounds Restructuring Project of the St. Jude Catholic Community.

The cost for the evening of dinner and dancing is $40 for one adult or $75 for couples. Tickets for the Luau may be purchased at St. Jude’s Pastoral Center, 32032 W. Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village or by calling the parish office at (818) 889-1279, ext. 210.

Located in the city of Westlake Village, the St. Jude Catholic Church serves more than 3,200 parishioners in the area. It also includes a K-8 elementary school on site.

Other community services rendered by the church include: summer day camp, religious education programs, social outreach programs including Breakfast for the Homeless, "Loaves & Fishes" collections of food, clothing, back-to-school supplies, Easter baskets, and a Baby Day event. These—and other programs—serve the disadvantaged and homeless within the surrounding community.
