City of Westlake Village to hear Lowe’s proposal

2005-05-19 / Community

On Wed., May 25 the Westlake Village City Council will hear from Lowe’s representatives concerning their plans to build a 175,000-square-foot home improvement store, including a 31,000-square-foot garden center, on Russell Ranch Road near Costco.

Included in the application is a proposal by Rotkin Real Estate Group to develop an additional 62,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space on the same lot.

The meeting at city hall will start at 6:30 p.m.

Known as a concept review meeting, the presentation allows city council members a chance to give Lowe’s representatives general feedback on the project’s design and ask basic questions about the plans.

The council will accept public testimony on the project during a public comment portion of the evening. All speakers are asked to submit a speaker card before the meeting.

A draft of the environmental impact report will be available in mid-June and finalized in September.

According to the city, additional public hearings will be scheduled before the city council takes a vote in September.
