Candidates for Senior of the Year announced

The city of Thousand Oaks Council on Aging (COA) is pleased to announce the names of Senior of the Year candidates nominated by residents of Thousand Oaks.

The following Thousand Oaks residents have been nominated: William Blakely, John Bravos, Jackie Pizitz, Esther Robinson and Alyce Schuldt.

COA dedicates a special event to honor volunteers through its annual Senior of the Year Awards Ceremony and Social. At the ceremony, a Senior of the Year is selected from the group of nominees and the mayor of Thousand Oaks bestows the award.

This year’s event will be at 7 p.m. Thurs., June 2 at the Goebel Senior Adult Center, the co-sponsors of this annual program. Tickets are available at the center and at the city manager’s office (in city hall) for a $2 donation.
