Party in the Park coming to Conejo Creek on May 22

The Conejo Valley Day Care Association presents the seventh annual "Stand for Children Day" on Sun., May 22 at Conejo Creek North Park, behind the Thousand Oaks Library on Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. From 9 to 11 a.m. is a 5K walk, followed by the "Party in the Park" event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event includes door prizes from local restaurants and entertainment venues, food from Pick-Up-Stix, live entertainment, fire engines, fingerprinting, a visit from the DARE unit, arts and crafts and specialty vendors.

Children’s activities include a petting zoo, face painting, Jolly Jumper, inflatable slide, water bomb battle zone, rock climbing wall and giveaways. Children can make and take home arts and crafts.

Ventura County Classic Chevys will host an exhibit for classic car buffs. Tae Ryong Studios will present a tae kwon do demonstration.

The 5K walk is sponsored by Lutheran Social Services and the Kids to Kids Foundation. Proceeds from the walk will support the needs of underprivileged and low- income children in the community.
