Parenting experts, spouses offer advice

Nationally known marriage and family specialists and real-life man-and-wife Drs. Dennis Lowe and Emily Scott-Lowe will present a free talk, "Help! I’m a Parent," from noon to 1 p.m. Tues., May 17 in room 160 of the Graduate School of Education and Psychology, Drescher Graduate Campus, at Pepperdine University, 24255 Pacific Coast Hwy., Malibu.

Their presentation will provide practical advice and essential tips designed to assist families in developing more satisfying and healthy relationships. The Lowes will discuss how parents may positively impact their relationship with their children by: promoting greater cooperation with their child; establishing rules, choices and consequences; and utilizing positive discipline.

The free event is co-sponsored by the Center for the Family and the Wellness Program at Pepperdine University. The Center for the Family was established in 1996 as a community outreach to provide a supportive force for couples and families. It provides practical seminars for marriage enrichment and parenting, as well as training for churches, professionals and lay leaders who reach wider audiences in their communities.
