Kiwanis to host Bike Rodeo The Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks will present its inaugural Bike Safety Rodeo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., May 14 in the Sears parking lot, 145 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. The Thousand Oaks Police Department and local Boy Scouts will help at the event. "This event will be more than just a bike safety rodeo," said Tony Antonelli, past president of the Kiwanis District Foundation and planning committee member. "It will be a family event. There will be food for a moderate price, music and lots of bicycle experts on hand, not to mention the bicycle raffle." The bicycle safety program will provide a safety check, rules of the road and several physical agility courses for children up to sixth grade. If you feel your child needs some additional bike/rider safety instruction, please bring him/her to this bike rodeo, said committee member Don Hegarty. Sponsors of the event are State Farm Insurance Company, Newbury Park Bicycle Shop and Sears. For more information, call Jack Tucker at (805) 492-7136. |
