Whole Foods Market presented a check for $4,070 to Conejo Valley Open Space Foundation yesterday, Wed., May 11 at the store, 740 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

The donation was the result of a "5 percent day." On March 23, the store earmarked 5 percent of all sales to be donated to the foundation, which helps to promote and maintain the multi-use trail and open space systems of the Conejo Valley.

The "5 percent day" event is held once a year with a community nonprofit group or foundation designated as beneficiary.
