Hyatt Westlake to host first gourmet Winemaker Dinner
On Fri., April 22, Hyatt Westlake Plaza will host their first gourmet Winemaker Dinner. The elegant five-course dinner will begin at 7 p.m.
The spirited wines of Chuck Carlson’s Curtis Winery will accompany the culinary expertise of Troy Knapp, executive chef at the Hyatt.
Enjoy a refreshing first course of blood orange-pomelo salad with cucumber, mint, scallion and crispy shallots served with a 2003 heritage rose, followed by oak-planked Chilean seabass with fresh spring herbs, accompanied by a 2003 Curtis Roussanne. The third course, Muscovy duck breast with black raspberry vinaigrette and aged balsamic, will be paired with a 2002 heritage cuvee followed by a main course of roasted rack of lamb, truffle-glazed baby vegetables and celery root puree complemented with a horizontal flight of 2001 Curtis Syrah, Ambassador’s, Volgelzang and Crossroads Vineyard.
A decadent dessert of black apple tarte tatin with Calvados ice cream will be paired with a Late Harvest Viognier.

This Winemaker Dinner is the first in a series of dinners that will be offered at Hyatt Westlake Plaza, each featuring the wines of a different winery.
