Pit bulls defended

I was delighted to see the March 31 Pet of the Week in the Acorn featuring a litter of pit bull puppies. Pit bulls are regularly put to death at shelters for no reason other than being the target of negative media propaganda.

The pit bull has replaced the German shepherd, Doberman pinscher and Rottweiler as the stereotypical vicious breed.

Most people who think or say that pit bulls are inherently mean have most likely never met one. Anti-pit bull people are deliberately distorting the record. Breed discrimination is as ignorant and narrow-minded as any other form of discrimination.

It is not really humans who are at risk from pit bulls, but entirely the other way around.

Please publish an article, written by an expert, that exposes this bias. Let’s hear the real statistics regarding dog bites.
