You can help battle leukemia through a triathlon team

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual signature fund-raising program, "Team in Training," seeks volunteer athletes to participate in an event that will test their mettle while helping to support research in finding improved treatments and a potential cure for these blood cancers.

Carrie Hassler is the campaign manager of the Conejo Valley Triathlon Team and is asking community members to "help me find a cure."

She has announced that a series of informational meetings will be presented to introduce potential volunteers to the program.

Individuals who enjoy running, cycling and swimming "for a cause" are encouraged to attend.

Upcoming meetings are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wed., April 27 at the Calabasas Library, 23975 Park Sorrento, Calabasas; and at 10:30 a.m. Sat., May 7 at the Westlake Village Civic Center, 31200 Oak Crest Drive, Westlake Village.

For more information, call Hassler at (310) 846-4705.
