Two high school juniors are recipients of $500 scholarships from the Ventura County Junior Miss Scholarship Program held March 19 in Ventura. They will advance to the California Junior Miss Program in August, where they will compete with other students across the state for $35,000 in college scholarships

Roxanne Estrada, Ventura County’s Junior Miss, is a student at Newbury Park High School and the daughter of Michael and Sally Estrada. Conejo Valley’s Junior Miss, Stephanie Hsu, is a student at Thousand Oaks High School and the daughter of David Hsu and Amy Chu. The young women were chosen on the basis of their academic records, an interview, talent presentation, public speaking ability and demonstration of their fitness level.

Individual achievement awards were presented to Taylor Olandt, a student at Westlake High School. She received two $100 awards for fitness and expression.
