True Yoga offers new classes, free workshop

2005-04-21 / Community

True Yoga has announced the addition of four new classes on the regular schedule designed specifically by and for the community. The studio is at 2873 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.

The postnatal class is for new moms and their babies. This class helps rebuild the mother’s energy and strength while providing a sense of community to mothers and their new children.

Restorative is a gentler form of yoga with longer holds in a series of poses utilizing bolsters, blankets and other props to support the body for deep stretching and relaxation.

Level 2/3 is a challenging class for the yogi who wishes to try new things and extend practice beyond the average flow or Level 2 class.

Morning Wake Up provides an earlier start to the day with a class designed to awaken the body and mind. This class is open to all levels.

True Yoga will host a free workshop with Dr. Alan Duben, local chiropractor, nutritionist and applied kinesiologist at 12:30 p.m. Sat., April 30 at the studio. Duben will explore the nature and causes of muscle tension and the reasons behind the difference people experience in flexibility from one side of the body to the other.

Duben will shop how applied kinesiology is used to test muscles and diagnose disease in the body that can lead to flexibility differentials. Attendees can volunteer for muscle testing.

True Yoga has served the Conejo Valley community for four years, providing yoga classes for all levels seven days a week, as well as workshops in yoga, meditation, health and nutrition.
