Praises the duck lover

Praises the duck lover

On March 29, about 9:30 a.m., traffic came to a halt as cars approached Thousand Oaks and Westlake boulevards. Taking the stage was a mama duck with 10 ducklings waddling in a line trying to reach the other side. Some of the little ones could not make the jump. Seeing the problem, a lady in a convertible quickly got out of her car and proceeded to give them the boost they needed. Her efforts were appreciated by those who love animals. No doubt some of the people grunted due to the short delay.

Animal lovers salute you, dear lady! Living in a world today so busy and stressed out to care much about anything, you were like a bright star. May your kindness return to you many times.

I heard of a test made recently on TV. To learn how safe our cross- walks are, volunteers were asked to cross the street with an officer on a motorcycle close by to watch. Tickets were given at the rate of 40 per hour. Shocking! Perhaps that $140 fine will change things.

In view of the above, in my own words, "It was a wonderment."
