Annual golf tourney a tribute to retiring priest

The 11th annual St. Maximilian Kolbe Golf Classic is scheduled for Mon., May 2 at North Ranch Country Club, 4761 Valley Spring Drive, Westlake Village.

Following the tournament will be a cocktail party at 5 p.m., then a buffet dinner and awards banquet at 6 p.m. Live and silent auctions will round out the evening.

This year the tournament will be dedicated to Father Peter O’Reilly, who will be retiring. He has served as church pastor from the time it was a very small parish.

Now there are 2,100 families and in recent years an expansive church complex was built at 5801 Kanan Road, Westlake Village.

The event is a fundraiser, with proceeds supporting various church projects and activities.

For those wishing to attend the cocktail party and dinner buffet only, the cost is $60 per person. The registration fee for golfers is $250 per person. Sponsorships are available ranging from $250 to $2,500.

Registration for the tournament will be at 9 a.m. Mon., May 2, with a putting contest at 10 a.m. and the shotgun tee-off at 11 a.m.

The sign-up deadline is Mon., April 25.
