Music, tours, historical reenactments coming to fiesta on April 23

Rancho Camulos will host a fiesta featuring musical entertainment, historical reenactments, tours and much more from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., April 23 at 5164 E. Telegraph Road, two miles east of Piru on Highway 126. This annual springtime event is a fundraiser in support of educational tours and the Rancho Camulos Museum.

Entertainment will include several ballet folklorico groups as well as performers on flamenco and steel guitars. The Topa Topa Fly Wheelers will present a display of antique farm equipment. Tours of the chapel, schoolhouse, main adobe and grounds will be available. Visitors are invited to stroll among more than 150 varieties of roses and to view a walnut tree on the property whose crown spread covers a half-acre.

Also featured will be reenactors: author Helen Hunt Jackson will explain the importance of Rancho Camulos to her novel "Ramona," and Señora Del Valle—one of the first owners of the ranch—will greet guests.

Admission is $10 adults, $5 children under 12. For directions or more information, please call (805) 521-1501 or visit the website at www.ranchocamulos.org.
