The show stars the vocal and instrumental group the Four Freshmen, television and Broadway star Barbara McNair, and Las Vegas and television comedy star Gary Mule Deer. The Platters will sing classics including "Only You," "The Great Pretender" and "My Prayer." The Horace Heidt Orchestra will round out the show.
Performing for more than a half- century, the Four Freshmen has been the longest-lasting vocal harmony group.
There have been 22 variations of the group, but members still carry on the original tradition of vocal jazz harmonies while acting as their own rhythm section. The group continues to tour throughout the world, performing a mixture of old favorites, such as "It’s a Blue World" and "Route 66," and many new arrangements, such as "Get Out of Town" and "Where Do You Start."
Singer, nightclub entertainer and star of motion pictures and television, Barbara McNair made her Broadway debut in the Harnick-Bock musical "The Body Beautiful." She had a hit record titled "Bobby" and appeared in stage productions with Nat King Cole, Howard Keel, Richard Kiley and Hal Linden.
The Platters first topped the record charts in 1955. Their hits include "Only You," "The Great Pretender," "You’ve Got the Magic Touch," "My Prayer," "Twilight Time" and "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes."
Though the team has changed over the years, the sound remains the same. Their upbeat show includes contemporary music and golden oldies.
