Thanks a bunch, really. Not 10 minutes after I finished reading the article yesterday on the front page of the Thousand Oaks Acorn about scam artists, one came to my door claiming to be the son of my neighbors "Cathy and Zack" and waved vaguely in the general direction of some houses down the hill.

He wanted money for some baseball tournament, while the one the day before was claiming other local parentage and collecting for soccer. When I spoke with him via the window in the door without opening, he became abusive and yelled at me, "Never mind, I don’t want your support anyway." 

The one yesterday turned away disgustedly while saying, "Some neighbor."

I was very grateful to know that my instincts were right on these guys.
