Sneakerland to host special events
April is National Foot Health Month, and Sneakerland, which recently opened in the Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks, will use the opportunity to educate customers on the importance of wearing quality shoes.
"Good shoes are an important part of maintaining your health," said Sneakerland owner Harold Surabian. "Worn-out or broken-down shoes can lead to foot pain and back problems."
Sneakerland will sponsor the following "foot festivities" at their Janss Marketplace location throughout April.
Customers bringing in a pair of gently-used shoes this month will receive 10 percent off their next shoe purchase. All donated shoes will be given to local charities.
On Sat., April 16 the store will host a "foot faire." Customers donating shoes on that day will be entered into a raffle for various prizes, including a free pair of shoes.
During this event, Dr. Jeffrey Hurless, a board-qualified podiatric surgeon in Thousand Oaks, and Dr. Terry Schroeder, a four-time Olympic medalist, chiropractor and current head coach of Pepperdine University’s water polo team, will be at the store to discuss foot problems and provide customers with shoe recommendations.
