Two men arrested after brawl at restaurant Two men arrested after brawl at restaurant Two local men were arrested March 24 in connection with criminal threats and assault with a deadly weapon at a restaurant in Thousand Oaks. Kyle Burlingame, 23, of Agoura Hills and Michael Maturo, a 19-year-old from Simi Valley, allegedly made inappropriate remarks to two men sitting at a table inside BJ’s Bar and Grill in the 3900 block of Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks. The victims were sitting with friends at a table when Burlingame approached and made some inappropriate remarks, police said. One of the victims, Adam Holiday, asked Burlingame to leave, which he did. But Burlingame quickly returned and struck Holiday in the back of the head with a fire extinguisher. Christopher Henderson, who sitting at the table with Holiday, injured his hand while attempting to stop the assault. Burlingame and Maturo then ran into the parking lot and the victims pursued them. Outside, Maturo told the victims he had a gun and reached into his waistband. The victims feared for their lives and retreated back into the restaurant to call authorities, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. Burlingame and Maturo fled in a vehicle but were later stopped by police and arrested. Holiday complained of pain to his head, neck and back but declined medical treatment. Henderson was transported to Los Robles Medical Center and treated for his injured hand. |
