The Braille Institute can help persons dealing with vision loss. Free low-vision consultations will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow, Fri., April 1, at the Goebel Senior Center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.
During one-hour private sessions, a low-vision rehabilitation specialist will assess visual skills, offer techniques to make the most of existing vision, determine what low-vision devices are needed to complete daily tasks, and make recommendations.
Consultants will also demonstrate operating devices that enlarge printed material, such as lighted magnifiers and closed-circuit televisions. For more information or to make an appointment, call (805) 682-6222.
