Innovative dance production coming to T.O. will explore life of rain forest
The David Taylor Dance Theatre of Colorado will present a magical journey through different levels of life in a tropical rain forest in their production of "Rainforest" at 7:30 p.m. Fri., April 8 in the Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.
According to sponsor Performances to Grow On, this production features "incredible costumes and props by George Peters, a brilliant original score by Jesse Manno and stunning light effects by Jill and Dan Neafus in a spectacular production that is full of beauty, movement and magical effects."
A dozen professional dancers will be joined by a group of local dancers. The choreography is a blending of contemporary ballet with movement that is fluid and smooth as dancers slither, leap, crawl and fly across the stage.
Tickets ranging from $16 to $22 are available by calling the Civic Arts Plaza at (805) 449-2787.
