Mankind should exhaust all options before using weapons

2005-03-24 / Letters

After analyzing a lot of the information and letter writing regarding the incidents with the tiger and the chimpanzees, there are facts that cannot be disputed.

Man and animal have a good deal more in common than you may want to believe. It’s pretty conclusive that some men and some animals act the same way when they perceive a threat.

However, man has devised much more efficient ways to kill and has created weapons that often cause death and mass destruction.

I think it is reasonable to request the people that make the decisions to use weapons to first exhaust all other options, if possible. Otherwise, someday the decision to use the weapon may be the end of the human race.
