 RANDY THOMSON/Acorn Newspapers OFFICER OF THE YEAR-Ventura County Senior Deputy Dennis Sliva is honored as "Officer of the Year" at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church in Thousand Oaks. With him is his girlfriend Denise Obuszewski. Family members also attended. Dennis was instrumental in the planning of funeral services for former President Ronald Reagan and worked 12-hour shifts throughout the week, when more than 106,000 people paid their respects to the late president.
