Art group to offer seminar

The Thousand Oaks Art Association (TOAA) is hosting a two-day seminar on the methods of the Great Masters at 7 p.m. Thursdays, April 21 and May 19, at the Greater Thousand Oaks Technology Center at the Wildwood School Campus, 600 Velarde Drive, Thousand Oaks.

The seminar will feature Saul Bernstein, who has invested more than 30 years studying the Great Masters.

The major museums of Europe granted Bernstein unprecedented access to paintings by Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Rubens, El Greco and other great artists. He took hundreds of X-rays and thousands of raking light photos to discover the methods that the painters used.

Dubbed "The Pixel Picasso," Bernstein is one of the top microcomputer artists in the country today. He’s gained both notoriety and acclaim nationwide and has won an Emmy for his efforts in micro-computerized animation.

The cost for nonmembers of TOAA is $15 for both sessions or $10 for one session. Space is limited. For reservations, call Beverly Wilson at (818) 889-8056 or e-mail beverly38@msn.com.
