The ancient art of meditation will be explored from 7 to 9 p.m. Tues., March 1 at the Gold Coast Plaza, 1414 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. Bent Hansen, an instructor of meditation and life enhancement classes, will introduce techniques to calm and clear the mind.

The event is being sponsored by Unity Center Church, a spiritual community that "honors the truth in all religions and encourages spiritual growth through the practice of prayer in daily life." The church regularly meets for Sunday worship at 10 a.m. at the Gold Coast Plaza.
