Los Robles elects new chairman

C. Perin Johnson, MD has recently been elected chairman of the hospital’s board of trustees for the year 2005. A cardiologist and member of the hospital’s medical staff since1975, Johnson also served for two years as chairman of the Department of Medicine of Los Robles Hospital.

"We are exceptionally pleased to have Dr. Johnson lead our governing board," said Jim Sherman, president and CEO of Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center. "His strong commitment to the hospital and to his profession coupled with his extensive involvement and knowledge of the community brings a breadth of experience that will greatly serve to benefit the board."

A graduate of Ohio State University College of Medicine, Johnson also completed his medical internship, internal medicine residency, and post-doctoral fellowship in cardiology at the university. After completion of his training, he served in the U. S. Navy as chief medical officer of the Naval Post-Graduate School in Monterey, Calif.

Johnson is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology. He is the senior partner of the Regional Heart Center of Thousand Oaks, an affiliation he’s had since 1976.

In addition to his professional career, Johnson’s volunteer commitments to the community have led to a leadership role as president of the Ventura County Chapter of the American Heart Association for two years, and district counselor of the California Chapter of the American College of Cardiology for four years.

Serving with Johnson on the 2005 Los Robles Hospital Board of Trustees are: vice chair, Ritch Eich, vice president marketing, California Lutheran University; secretary, Jim Sherman; and board members Dr. Simon Boostanfar, pediatrician; Dr. Frank Dawson, family practitioner; Dr. Vishva Dev, hospital chief of staff; Betty Horner, community liaison; Dr. Mark Mazur, internal medicine; Brian McNamee, senior vice president of human resources, Amgen; Dr. Harry Menco, oncologist and hematologist; Dr. David Newman, vascular surgeon; and Greg Ramirez, Agoura Hills City Manager and redevelopment agency executive director.
