Moms and dads who are interested in improving their parenting skills can attend "Celebrate the Family" from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., Feb. 5 at Newbury Park High School, 456 Reino Road.

The conference—composed of two workshops and a keynote session—is being presented jointly by the Conejo Coalition for Youth and Families and Conejo Valley Neighborhood for Learning under the auspices of the Conejo Recreation and Park District.

Keynote speaker Peter Alsop, PhD, an educator and humorist, uses song, commentary and laughter to address topics of interest to parents such as sibling rivalry and building self-esteem.

The cost is $20 per person or $30 per couple/family. The fee includes free childcare—space permitting—to those who register by Sat., Jan. 29.
