Winners of 2003 Teen Video Festival announced The fifth annual Conejo Teen Video Festival held its annual awards show gala in the Janet and Ray Scherr Forum at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza recently. Of the original 31 entries, 11 finalists were selected by the festival committee. Those finalists were then judged by five industry professionals and scored based on their technical merit, story development and overall production quality. A total of nine awards were handed out during the 95-minute ceremony. The winners were the following: Best Documentary: Twitch, by Frazier Phillips Best Music Video: One Nation Over God, by Brandon Schrichten Best Screenplay: The Protector, by Matt Floryan Best Cinematography: Drone, by Taylor Chien Most Original: 4th Time’s a Charm, by Daniel Cusworth Best Technical Achievement: The Protector, by Matt Floryan Best Actor/Actress Award: Daniel Cusworth in 4th Time’s a Charm Best Video (under age 15): Twitch, by Frazier Phillips Overall Best Video: The Protector, by Matt Floryan The Conejo Teen Video Festival is unique in that all entries must be original works of art entirely written, directed, filmed, and edited by teenagers 19 years and younger. The Conejo Teen Festival is presented through a joint partnership of the city of Thousand Oaks Arts Commission, Conejo Recreation and Park District and Adelphia. Replays of the awards show will air on TOTV Channel 10 Government Television and on the Adelphia Public Access Channel. Check your local listings for air dates and times. |
