VISITING THE BIG EASY--In May of 2002, Sana and Pete Broadrick of Thousand Oaks visited Jackson Square in the French Quarter section of New Orleans. Behind the Thousand Oaks couple stands a statue of Andrew Jackson and the St. Louis Cathedral, the oldest continuously active Catholic Church in the United States. The former American president placed his sword on the St. Louis alter after his victory against the British in 1815.

GIVE ME YOUR GOLD--Sue and Irish John Gore of Thousand Oaks are being robbed by a lady pirate as they disembarked from their ship in Montego Bay, Jamaica during their Holland America cruise through the Grand Caymans, Jamaica and Cozumel, Mexico.

Art's boyhood friends of 67 years flews in from Florida and New York with their wives to also attend. The group had a wonderful time and was very happy to be together and become reacquainted after so many years. Elderhostel are programs wherein hotels or other resorts put on educational programs.

SEEING THE COUNTRY--In this photo taken by his wife Sandy, Jerry Ross of Thousand Oaks sits at the geographical center of the United States during a trip the couple took to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. The couple traveled through Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Utah and Nevada. The two captioned the photo, "Vacation 2002."

WHOSE IDEA WAS THIS CRUISE IN THE COLD?--In picture to right, from left, Douglas Tapking, Vicki Sonstagard, Karen Tapking, Rae Ann Shearer, Howard Sonstagard, Gwen Thompson and Jim Thompson are a part of 30 intrepid souls from Ascension Lutheran Church in Thousand Oaks who decided to cruise together aboard a Princess Line Ship at the end of June 2002. They visited Seward, College Fjord, Glacier Bay, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan.
