Madrid Theatre unveils schedule

The Madrid Theatre announces the following events for May. All events will take place at the theatre, 21622 Sherman Way, Canoga Park.

The Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival presents "Melodies in Motion" at 2 p.m. Sun., May 8. Tickets are $25 to $35. Dawnn Lewis (an actress from NBC’s "A Different World") stars in this musical cabaret celebration for Mother’s Day. Vocalists include Carla Renata of "The Lion King" and other guests who will perform country, jazz and rhythm and blues. For more information about this event call (818) 760-0408.

The Valley Youth Chorus presents "Spring Sing!" at 6 p.m. Sat., May 21. Tickets are $6 and $10. Children from grades three through 12 perform a wide repertoire from Bach to Broadway.
