Hear the blues at Strauss Ranch

The National Park Service will present a free concert at 2 p.m. on Mother’s Day, Sun., May 8 on the picturesque grounds of Peter Strauss Ranch, a unit of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMMNRA) at 30000 Mulholland Hwy., Agoura.

The guest performer is the Melvin Eddy Blues Band, which carries on the Chicago blues tradition. They’ve performed at the Los Angeles Blues Festival and currently appear in a feature role in the SMMNRA park film showing at the National Park Service Visitor Center, 401 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

Visitors are encouraged to come early and bring a picnic lunch or to stroll the park’s grounds or hike its nature trails. The concert is free, as is parking. For directions or details, call (805) 370-2301.
