Assemblyman has selective memory

State Sen. Tom McClintock must have a broken record playing in his head, and I guess intellectual honesty is in short supply in Sacramento.

I specifically remember that we have had a parade of Republican governors and it was definitely Reagan and Wilson who presided over the largest tax increases in our state’s history. So, Tom, please stop your tirades against "liberals" and take responsibility for being part of the problem because you certainly don’t have any viable solutions.

I also specifically remember your answer to our state’s energy problem was to build more nuclear plants––as if the two we have here in So Cal are doing so well. They have been off-line for years, and there’s still no technology for disposing of the waste without harming the environment.

And if I remember correctly, you were wholeheartedly in favor of "deregulation" of the energy sector. I’m sure you have been following that story.

In fact I propose that it is the high energy prices that we pay not only for gas but for our utilities that are dragging our economy downward, and you right-wingers love to set up decoys like the "schools" or "workman’s comp" as the reason for the state’s decline.

I guess what I’m saying to Tom is that people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
