Physician offers Lasik-technology vision correction Rajesh Khanna, MD, is offering Wavefront-guided custom ablation Lasik. This technology permits the doctor to correct the eyes of patients who were not candidates for Lasik previously. Wavefront-guided Lasik represents one of the latest advancements in the field of vision correction. A "Wavefront" of light is sent into an eye and the returning beam is analyzed by advanced computers, which produce about a billion calculations. This generates a "wavemap," unique to each eye. The data is then fed into a fifth-generation excimer laser that tracks and treats the eye. The diagnostic Wavefront device can map visual errors more accurately and even show the surgeon what the patient is seeing. Khanna is a fellowship-trained refractive surgeon who studied with the best refractive surgeons at the University of Cincinnati acquiring the skills and art required to perform refractive surgery. He completed his residency training at the State University of New York in Brooklyn, and has been involved in refractive surgery for more than six years. He’s a member of the California Medical Association, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. The Khanna Institute of Lasik and Refractive Surgery is at 1220 La Venta Drive, Ste. 209, Westlake Village. For details, please call (805) 230-2126 or send e-mail to lasik@khannainstitute.com. |
