Storytelling festival coming to Ojai

The Village of Tales Storytelling Festival will return to Ojai for its sixth year from Fri., April 29 through Sun., May 1, with performances at the Libbey Bowl and Ojai Arts Center. Attendees will hear various stories from many lands, including tales of suspense, humor, adventure, traditional folktales and original creations.

Music, movement and inventive props enhance many of the stories.

The festival is best suited for children ages 5 and up, and all children regardless of age must have a ticket. Individual events range from $8 to $14. The most economical way to experience the festival, according to promoter Brian Bemel of Performances to Grow On, is to purchase a festival pass: $80 adults, $145 family (two adults, two children).

Tale tellers at this year’s festival hail from North Carolina, Texas, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Berkeley and Japan. A complete schedule of their performances is available online at www.ptgo.org. A brochure is available by calling (805) 646-8907.
