‘Music in Motion’ is theme of
11th annual Ventura Music Festival

The 11th annual Ventura Music Festival, themed "Music in Motion," will be presented from Thurs., April 28 through Sun., May 8 in Ventura. Under the artistic direction of Nuvi Mehta, "Music in Motion" will present 12 concerts over 10 days. Featured artists include The Festival Gala, Burning River Brass, the Malashock Dance Company, Cypress String Quartet, Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, countertenor Bejun Mehta, Russian pianist Dmitri Demiashkin, violinist Corey Cerovsek and the Ventura Festival Orchestra. A Mother’s Day concert and brunch will feature Eugenia and Arianna Zukerman.

The Festival Gala with the Phil Norman Tentet at 6 p.m., Thurs., April 28 at the historic Livery, 34 Palm Street, Ventura. Tickets are $100.

Tea and Trumpets I with the Festival Brass Quintet at 3 p.m. Fridays, April 29 and May 6 at Nona’s Courtyard Café in the Bella Maggiore Inn, 67 S. California St., Ventura. Tickets are $55 and include English-style high tea.

Burning River Brass at 8 p.m. Fri., April 29 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 3175 Telegraph Road, Ventura. Tickets are $35, $25 and $15 and include a reception following the concert. Student rush tickets for $8 will be available at the door.
