Image Arts Gallery to display

The oil paintings of California landscape and still life artist Silva Segrist are on display at Image Arts Gallery of Westlake Village through April 29.

An artist’s reception with wine and hors d’oeuvres is planned for 4 to 7:30 p.m. Sat., April 16 at the gallery.

After completing work with noted artists at the Art League of Los Angeles and Scottsdale Artist’s School, Segrist, a Bell Canyon resident, launched her own career. She is passionate about her work.

"Whatever subject I choose, it has to move me emotionally," Segrist said. "This (helps me) transfer my original feelings to canvas."

Segrist visits museums and galleries around the world, finding inspiration in masterpieces of art. Her strongest influences are Claude Monet, John Singer Sargent and Joaquin Sorolla.
