Sponsors needed for tournament

The sixth annual Golf Classic, jointly sponsored by Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura College Foundations for Education, M.O.V.E. is scheduled for Mon., May 23 at Spanish Hills Country Club. Nearly 150 community and business leaders are expected to attend, and proceeds from the Golf Classic will be distributed equally among the three college foundations for use in scholarships and institutional programs. Foundation leaders are currently seeking corporations and individuals who would like to purchase a limited number of Golf Classic sponsorships. Sponsorships range from $1,000 for an individual’s sponsorship to the VIP $15,000 sponsorship that offers eight Golf Classic player entries, VIP seating at dinner, recognition by the Ventura County Community College District board of trustees and headline recognition in all Golf Classic publicity.

Sponsor levels of $2,500 and $5,000 are also available.

The Golf Classic begins at 10 a.m. with registration and long drive and putting contests. Play begins at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start. Cocktails and a silent auction are set for 4 p.m., with Spanish Hills’ gourmet Italian buffet dinner and a live auction at 4:30 p.m. The entry fee is $250 per player including lunch, awards dinner and tee package. A "mulligan package" is priced at $25. Additional dinner tickets for guests are available at $50.
