DAR will donate to historical Agoura site
Conejo Valley chapter of
Daughters of the American Revolution to host several April events to benefit
Reyes Adobe historical site

The Conejo Valley Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution plan a number of special events at the Reyes Adobe historical site, 5464 Reyes Adobe Road, Agoura Hills in April.

At noon Mon., April 4, the chapter will present to the historical site a 1904 baby’s high chair as well as a mano and matate from members Yvonne Knerr and Diane Johnson respectively. Following the program members will tour the house, barn and grounds.

The meeting will be in the barn area. Those attending are invited to bring a sack lunch, which they may eat in the meeting room or at the adjacent park.

At 8 a.m. on Fri., April 8, the chapter will donate two oak trees and one redwood tree to be planted on the historical site’s grounds. Anita Schmidt, who serves as the chapter’s environmental committee chairman, will be instrumental in planting the donated trees in conjunction with the observance of Arbor Day.

For more information on either of these events or other chapter activities, call Carol Satterthwaite at (805) 532-1148.
