Applications available for CVD parade

Applications are available for entrants in the 49th annual Conejo Valley Days (CVD) Parade scheduled for 9 a.m. Sat., April 30 on Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks. The 2005 CVD theme is "Conejo Pride in 2005." The parade is presented every year by the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks.

The CVD parade can accept up to 150 entries. Local bands, floats, equestrian units and antique and classic automobiles are part of this hometown tradition that attracts thousand of parade-goers. Parade participates include local businesses, residents and service and youth clubs. Trophies are awarded to outstanding float and equestrian entries.

This year, parade participants include the Conejo Valley Little League National Baseball Champions. A squadron from the U.S. Commemorative Air Force made up of vintage World War II vintage fighter plans will start the parade with a flyover followed by a missing man formation.
