Field trips, animation part of club’s summer program Boys & Girls Club will offer daycare from June 10 to Aug. 26 at Los Cerritos Middle School in Thousand Oaks The Boy & Girls Clubs of Conejo and Las Virgenes will offer its third annual summer program from June 20 to Aug. 26 at Los Cerritos Middle School, Thousand Oaks. The cost is $100 a week plus a $25 annual membership fee. Scholarships are available. Students may enroll on a week-by-week basis. The program is open to all incoming sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students, as well as those matriculating to ninth grade in the fall. Students who attend or will be attending Los Cerritos can sign up now. Those who attend or will be attending Colina can begin enrollment on Mon., April 4. Students who attend or will be attending other middle schools, public or private, can begin signing up on Mon., April 18. The program will include cartooning and animation, ceramics and painting, basketball, volleyball, computers, magazine writing and design, book club, karate, yoga, cheerleading, dance and more. Twenty field trips will include the California Science Center, deep sea fishing, horseback riding, the Ventura County Fair and Mako’s Surf Camp. Scott Robinson is the branch director at Los Cerritos Middle School. He previously served as associate executive director of the Santa Monica Boys & Girls Clubs and director of the Malibu Boys & Girls Club. His staff of youth professionals have years of experience working with children and will provide a range of guided experiences to help develop a child’s leadership and life skills.
