Senior Concerns
names Hyatt GM
to its board

Ulrich Samietz, general manager of the Hyatt Westlake Plaza since August 2004, has been elected to the board of directors of Senior Concerns.

The nonprofit social service agency provides quality-of-life services for special-needs seniors in Ventura and western Los Angeles Counties.

"We are delighted that Ulrich has joined our volunteer board," said Chairman Ronald Goldman. "As the Hyatt’s new general manager, he continues the long-time relationship we have enjoyed with the hotel staff and management. The Hyatt chain has been an earnest supporter of Senior Concerns for many years."

Samietz, who lives in Agoura Hills, joined the Hyatt corporation in 1985 and advanced through positions of increasing responsibility in its food and beverage division and hotel management across the western U.S. and in the Caribbean.
