Scholarships for women offered by Zonta club of the Conejo The Zonta Club of the Conejo Valley Area is offering its Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship, established in 1997 for women pursuing an undergraduate degree in business leading to a business management career. Scholarships of $400 are offered by participating Zonta International districts, and five international scholars will be chosen from district recipients to receive scholarships of $4,000 each. Young women applicants must meet the following requirements: They must be eligible to enter the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program at an accredited university, college or institution at the time the funds are received; must have achieved an outstanding academic record during the first two to three years of academic studies; and must submit verification of enrollment from the institution they are attending. They must show their intention to complete a program in business and show outstanding achievement in business-related subjects as records on the official university, college, or institution transcript. Applicants must request one confidential letter of recommendation from a faculty member in their major field of study and another from an employer, volunteer supervisor or academic advisor. An essay must be submitted that clearly describes immediate and future academic and career goals and how the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship will assist in meeting these goals. District awards will be distributed to Zonta International district governors or their designates in September 2004 and international awards will be distributed in December 2004.
