Angered over coach dismissal

We would like you to know of our shock and sadness of the news of Thousand Oaks High School Track Coach Robert Radnoti being suspended.

We have the highest regard for him and his program; we don’t understand how this is happening without some sort of public forum. It appears that the opinions of those who respect, admire and have confidence in Coach Radnoti were not solicited. This greatly concerns us.

The only explanation that has been given is that this is a CIF sanction for rules violation regarding the summer off-season conditioning period. Our son participates in this program and every summer there is discussion of the interpretation of the rule and care is taken to make sure that the rules were followed to the "T".

The program seems to be exactly what is described on the CIF-SS Bluebook Web page FAQs page.

We have felt privileged to be a part of one of the premier programs in the nation and don’t know how this coach has been taken away without a better explanation.

Also, taking the coach off the field from practice indicates that there was some urgency to the suspension, that some how he was a threat to the children.

We think this was handled very badly.
