Expert on ‘Extreme Makeover’ will speak

"Industry Appreciation Night" will be the theme when the National Association of Women in Construction meets from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tues., April 13 at Sunset Hills Country Club, Thousand Oaks. Student winners of local contests will be recognized along with area businesses who have supported the local chapter’s efforts during the past year.

The winners include elementary and high school students who’ve placed in the top three of their class with their creative entries. The first-place entries go on to compete regionally.

A silent auction, raffle and food collection for Manna will also be part of the evening.

The featured speaker will be Jodi Bagwell of Bagwell Construction. She’ll share her firm’s experience as "the remodeling magicians" of "Extreme Makeover, Home Edition" on ABC. Her presentation will explain how they do what they do in five days, completely renovating a home "to make a homeowner’s dream come true."
