Allende’s influence explored
The lecture will focus on the life and literary accomplishments of one of South America’s great novelists

Oxnard College Professor Elain Alarcon-Toten will lecture on "The Role of the Artist in the Work of Isabel Allende" from noon to 12:50 p.m. Wed., April 14 in the Clock Tower Auditorium (LS-8) on the campus at 4000 S. Rose Ave., Oxnard. She will explore an overview of the author’s life, intellectual milieu, literary subject matter and themes, and her place in literary history as one of South America’s great novelists and short story writers.

The presentation is part of the Oxnard College Scholars’ Lecture Series presented by faculty members of Oxnard, Moorpark and Ventura colleges as well as guest speakers. Students and the community-at-large are invited to attend these free programs. On-campus parking is available for $1.
