about Kerry

Firefighters for Kerry? Don’t believe it. It is firefighter union propaganda and does not represent the opinion of the rank and file.

Here are the facts: Those are union activists you see behind John Kerry holding up those signs — members of the AFL-CIO. The union never polls its members prior to endorsement of either candidates or propositions.

I have been a firefighter for 23 years with the LAFD. I may have met four firefighters who were Democrats. The rest are "rich" republicans or independents.

The union’s board of directors decide what candidates to support. In my union, that’s nine guys claiming to represent the opinion of 3,000 firefighters. If the union would bother to ask us, they would find that we overwhelmingly support George W. Bush for reelection.
