Men charged with T.O. bank robbery

The Ventura County District Attorney’s office filed charges last week against two men from Los Angeles in connection with the June 2002 armed robbery of Western Financial Bank in Thousand Oaks.

Manor Washington, 18, and Donnie "Dog" Woods, 24, escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash during the five-man holdup.

Three other suspects involved in the crime have been prosecuted as well, according to District Attorney Greg Totten’s office.

The robbers, who were affiliated with the Rollin’ 60’s criminal street gang based in south Los Angeles, entered the bank with weapons and demanded money, according to officials. One shot was fired inside the bank, but no injuries reported.

Manor currently is a prisoner at the California Dept. of Corrections resulting from a previous bank robbery conviction in Los Angeles County. Woods is in Ventura County jail.

Each faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

The year-long investigation into the robbery involved the district attorney’s office, the FBI and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
